Part 1 (too many pics)

Hi All. Just got back from a family holiday from South East Queensland. Here’s a quick Gold Coast and Noosa fishing report.

GC: We spent the nights fishing bait from the back of the house and mornings flicking lures near the bridges.

On the first night using small pieces of mullet strips while fishing for bream we got busted off 4 times to something big and powerful. Not sure what they were.
The next couple of nights resulted in not much but the bridge near Pacific Fair was pretty good.

My first ever queenfish. I think these might be a small GT and a Bigeye trevally? I can never really tell. A Moses perch. A flounder by-catch On our last night we had an epic session casting unweighted mullet pieces to the next door neighbour’s floating pontoon. We landed large bream and then I hooked up to my first ever Jack. Geez they fight hard. And now we knew what the first night bust offs where. The jack was about 50 cm and the bream in the high 30s.

Part 2
Noosa

Nights again were spent fishing using bait but we didn’t get much here.
Lucky the accommodation we stayed at had kayaks available and we spent the mornings chasing pelagics on lures.
I also managed to land a couple of cale cale trevallies which apparently are quite rare. We also did a day at the Blibli Barra Park and it was good to see my father in law land quite a few of these. Sam no longer fishes bait so he spent the day throwing soft plastics. He did managed to land one out of many missed hook ups and bust offs. At this place you probably drop more than you catch. We landed a total of 17 fish from between 40 cm and 70 cm. It's not like a trout farm here. In fact the proprietors don't guarantee you will catch a barra. The middle of the day can be very quiet and you can bring your own gear.

Everybody looks happy

What a great holiday, well done samjas1316.

Everyone looks like they had a great time and the amount of variety of fish must of been exciting, not knowing what was going to be brought in next. I always wanted to catch a Mangrove Jack, it must of gone crazy hard at that size. Oh and very smart move , , , , happy father inlaw, happy wife.

All those fish look crispy clean too, super silver on everything.

As far as happy goes, this little guy seemed the happiest by far.
