Fathers Day Flick'n

Post by lukesfishinmission » Mon Sep 02, 2013 6:26 pm

Yesterday, I spent the afternoon chasing a few sooty grunter in the freshwater reaches of the Pioneer River in my kayak. I am yet to find a more relaxing way to spend a few hours than gracefully kayaking around the many pools and expanses of riffle habitat in my little “glide”, and casting at likely sooty haunts.

We only ended up with 3 little sootys in total but there will be plenty more around in the upcoming weeks as the water quickly warms up.

excellent work matey..
can i ask one thing, when you rig up weedless, is it always ball sinker, or can you use a bean or similar shaped sinker
just wonderign why its always a ball sinker.
i understand its easier to un-snag, but is that it??

Hey mate, easier to unsnag is a good reason yes, but the main reason is the fact i only require very little weight and they dont make a bean sinker as small as a ball. Thats the main reason
