Thanks Guys!
I shall chuck up some more pictures for all of you to see!
We were in a big group. 4 people a car. 3 cars from Melbourne.
Understandably, packing was kept to a minimum.

Clothes , Tackle and the rod case!
We left Melbourne and reached Glendambo, SA for the sunrise.
We were in 2 Prado's and a spirited Nissan Pathfinder that kept up fairly well with the bigger cars.
Driving through the dessert , the roads were a bright Red. Im attributing that to a higher latterite content. Made for a very visually appealing drive.
We finally reached Coober Pedy , Stopping off for some R&R.
We stayed overnight in a renovated opal mine shaft.
A few beers were had under a very starry night sky. The milky way could be seen very clearly and we had some fun trying to spot constellations.
We set off the next morning , fresh as a fiddle and heading straight to NT. The next stop would be tennants creek.
We did have a it of fun on the way though, we had to pass through the Outback Autobahn. Needless to say, it was a surreal feeling flying though the desert at speeds well over anything ive ever done on the M1
A plane flying into Alice Springs as we drove through town.
We finally crossed over the border.
We stayed over night at Tennants Creek Caravan Park . Good , clean and inexpensive!
Quick shower in the morning and we headed off to Darwin.
On the way we simply had to stop for a morning beer at the famous Daly Waters Pub.
The crystal clear pools at Mataranka were impressive. Thousands of fruit bats flying over head. The kids had a blast !
We then reached Darwin. Stayed overnight , took a walk around town and headed to Kakadu.
Then I got into them Saratoga!
