surf fires up as waters warm

Post by bulldiggin » Thu Sep 25, 2014 5:46 pm

Hello to all. I am new to this site, but would like to share my good fortune from last Saturday (20/9/14). Myself and a mate hit the surf down south gippsland way around 3 pm. After a couple of hours catching mullet for the nights bait, we threw out the surf rods at 5.30pm. Wasn't long before we had 2 good flathead in the bag. At 6pm , I got smashed, and after setting the hooks was involved with what I called a eagle ray. Within 5 or so mins I beached a ripper gummy at 130 cm. Very pleased to land a gummy of that size still in daylight. For the next couple of hours my friend and I managed another 4 flattys. Near on high tide(8.20pm), I got nailed again , after a short battle , I landed another gummy of 117cm. After the tide turned, fishing slowed. Pulled the pin at 10.30pm. Very pleased with the nights fishing, and will head back this Saturday . Water temp rises by a couple of degrees, and I believe it makes a big difference in results. Good fishing to u all.
P.s. I have tried to upload a photo but says it's too large. Any suggestions on how to make the file smaller?? It's just a pic from my iphone 5..
