go home get your reel and see if you can pull line off your reel by hand, if your line isnt budging or is really hard to pull off then your drag is set too tight. loosent the drag knob a small amount at a time until line can be pulled off using only limited force. this way you wont break line off so much, once you get the hang of it you will know when to tighten more or less

well done on your catch good feed there is a massive stingray doing the rounds at brighton at the moment i took my son for some father/son time and teach him a bit about fishing was berleying with tuna oil with chook pellets soaked in tuna oil before we about 4 pm threw the last of the pillys with in ten minutes the massive stingray was cleaning them up i would say at least a 4ft wingspan was awesome to watgh

Im not the best fisho but i had the drag loose usually i loosen when i set my rod down normally adjusted to a hand pull.

I dunno what i had i used my surf rod at the time and that bent and the shakes/fighting was great. But lets just say im crap :).

I have seen a massve ray there near the bus shelter. After i threw in berley.

Ill give gunners a try friday if i cant catch salmon then ill go to fishing school
