first reddie on SP

Post by ChrisD » Sat Mar 18, 2017 1:14 pm

Had a quick session on the Yarra last night and gave SP's a go again.
15 mins in and managed a hookup - a little reddie but still first fish on a SP.
Had two others for the night but dropped both, suspect I didn't have the SP sitting quite right on the jig head.
But was nice to have some success and finally get something on SP's
Now just have to make a trip to the local to stock up on some more..........as I may have lost a few to the snags along the way.

Good work, they love that colour, cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

My daughter and good self also tried soft plastics last week at lake Purrembete but not in the normal way we were trolling for reddies and were using Stump Jumpers No.2 in rainbow trout pattern and doing quite well. We decided to try soft plastics in amongst the weed but we were not doing well so back to trolling as we had been catching a few that way. We threw the Squiggies in whilst trolling to see what would happen and they went off we had ten fish in a short time on the squiggies ended up with about twenty good sized fish for the day.
