Goulburn 22 May 2018

Post by sirsquidalot » Tue May 22, 2018 11:40 am

Got up to the Goulburn yesterday and swung the fly rod around for 4 hours or so. Caught 4 rainbows, two very small and two decent 25cm+ ones, didn't measure or weight but threw straight back in. All four were caught using a double nymph rig with a indicator. Up until today i'd never caught a trout on the fly so it was real buzz. Last few weeks of the season so i'll be hoping to get out a few more times.

No i don't tie my own, i'm thinking about getting into to it over the winter, but like everything in flyfishing the cost is prohibitive.

Well done bloke. I just got back from fly fishing the golly. Plenty of small fish about, it may have been recently stocked I'm thinking. A mate of mine landed a 4lb bow! If your wanting to land a few try the Rubicon, a while ago there was an "accidental" release of brook trout. Throw a few wets around and you'll clean up
