Yarra near Healesville

Post by Truedogz » Tue Oct 09, 2018 7:08 am

After many months I finally managed to get a few hours fishing in last night! I had to get the truck serviced and just in case they got it done early I threw some tackle in the back. They did get it done early so I picked up a couple of packs of worms and headed over to the Yarra.

I managed to pick up 2 large carp, 3 small redfin, an eel and 6 maccas. The maccas were large fish between about 32 to 38 cm. They were close to spawning condition and I unhooked them without removing them from the water. I'd say they were in the process of migrating upstream to their spawning grounds.

No pics as I forgot to put the camera in my fishing bag (I've lost my routine!).

It was great to once again wet a line and enjoy an evening in a very pretty part of the state. I'm still pretty busy with work but hopefully it will ease up a bit so I can throw a line in a bit more.

Best Wishes

It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Must have been a busy few hours - great to see that the Maccas are continuing to do well in the Yarra.
