Longridge Park Warrendyte 19th Jan

Post by ChrisD » Sat Jan 19, 2019 8:04 pm

Fished Longridge Park Warrendyte this evening.
Had mixed results here in the past, so with crossed fingers I gave it a go.
Compost worms for bait.
Things certainly did not go as planned, many, many, many..... Many snags. Resulting in lots of lost tackle.
And when I wasn't snagged up.... Shrimp were stealing the bait...... I think I remember why I actually gave up coming here.
I battled through for three hours, and multiple locations..... But in the end I have packed it in with donuts...and not even a bite.

Bad luck Chris, good array of fish there + its been hit and miss for me as well - but as you know, each spot on the yarra has its compromises with comfort and frustration levels. Would have been a nice night to do it tho

Sometimes that’s just how it goes. I’ve had frustrating sessions like that before where I have lost up to 10 sinkers in a session!
Better luck next time mate.

Whats the bank access like? Only fished that section via kayak.

There is a deep hole over on the east side of that park just between the two fast sections. Not sure if you can get bank access there.

I find that if i have a single sliding ball lead , sliding all the way to a circle hook, it reduces the amount i get snagged in the yarra fair bit.

There is always more to learn , fish to catch , places to see and friends to make.

Ditto, except with flat bean or barrel sinkers
