For those of you who fish Waranga Basin I asked depi if there were any plans to stock/restock it and got this reply-

DEPI Fisheries Hi David, we are currently investigating the potential of stocking Waranga. These and other stocking opportunities will be discussed with recreational fishing representatives at the annual Vic Fish Stock forums held in August.

Sounds good to me, cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

The only problem with that Davo is Vrfish are the recreational fishing representatives

Not sure if I misunderstood when talking to you before Dave but did the idea to stock the basin originate from the fishing forum we attended last year?
cheers

It was brought up there Jim, also I was talking to a guy at the Basin Saturday that was doing a survey for restocking, hence the reason I messaged DEPI, cheers davo

What are your concerns Steve? Do you think they may stock the wrong varieties or not stock it at all?
cheers

Great report Jim
But I believe Deathray's comment is closer to the mark.
Did they give you a feed ??? (fish & chips maybe)

Yes...there was food! Cakes etc after from memory. It was nearly a year ago so my memory may fail me but I distinctly remember myself having to restrain Dave as he nearly got into a punch-on with a lady who Dave deemed to be taking more than her share of DEPI cups that were made available. :Boxing: Rather nasty incident!

At the time I would have thought that Deathray's comments regarding it being a token procedure to 'consult' anglers, when the decision had already been made was an accurate description. However, looking back, they did change what they put forward. Also, they took on board the suggestion to at least look at stocking Waranga Basin so with hindsight, it wasn't too bad.
cheers
