Anglers are being encouraged to download the free 'Vic Fishing' app at http://go.vic.gov.au/9i0Cd4 which includes a 'can I fish here' feature that helps people know where they are in relation to marine parks by using the GPS in their mobile phones.
Five vessel owners were fined $303 each recently for fishing in the Point Cook and Ricketts Point marine sanctuaries. A further 3 boats received warnings.
