Amen to that Brudda :victory:
Their true colours will be shown once they get into power...
We need a Ramp at Flinders

Ps - i could be wrong here, but isnt patto and warneet like a private ramp or something like that?
if so how is the no launching/parking fee proposal going to work there?
Patto is Parks, and Warneet is a committee. Committee will end up losing power over the ramp and Parks will hand over Patto

Should have always been free. But what do we loose.

Ramps in rural areas are often maintained by foreshore committees which are volunteers.

I wouldn't be surprised if rural areas ramps degrade over time.

It’s great news abolishing ramp fees.
So who will maintain the various ramps now - since some were council, some were Parks, some were committee run ?
Or will it be just a name transfer/media hype/formality then the same lack of maintenance is passed on ?
I really hope this “policy” is more than just transferring of paper work and funds.
I hope it transfers into :
Regular rubbish collections,
New or improved jetties,
Dredging when required,
A fresh water tap or 2 to rinse an outboard,
More parking spaces,
Heaven forbid some sort of security presence or monitoring system to deter theft AND move on brainless knobs who think general car parking in a ramp is ok - I’m thinking Mornington.
I’m sure there plenty more to add to the list but let’s hope it’s real feet on the sand and in the salty water type of policy.
I’m sure the liberals will have some sort of counter policy - that will be interesting.

Hey purple5 pretty sure those ramps u mentioned are run by local counci/shire
I think st.klida ramp is owned by the marina which is privately owned
By the way did Daniel Andrews say when all this would be put in place, prob 20 year plan or something ridiculous

All of these rosy plans will mean pretty much nothing if the WP biosphere is destroyed by the plans AGL have for Crib Point.
THIS should be the issue victorian voters take to the next election

What a load of pointless crap.
I'm happy to pay a launching fee, it's upgrading and adding new ramps, facilities etc etc that really matters.
If it was such a revelation, why do both parties wait till 1 month from an election, see this for what it is.
Personally, I want to see the money we already put into licenses rego's etc put back into fishing.
What is it really going to help, not paying launching fees ? ok, better in our back pocket I suppose,
But, nothing will change that is really more important, ramp conditions, the number of ramps, the facilities at the ramps !!!!
Where is all our money going ? probably for legal bills for the red shirt's !
I don't vote Liberal, but they will cover the loss in " free launching" with the kept quiet increase in rego's and lisences, which I have heard will be introduced in the next financial year.
We need to wake up !
