Heartbreaking news
As much as it's good to know that Fisheries has been catching illegal activities, it is also heartbreaking news.
As much as knowing they are caught and will be prosecuted, the news also generates angers and hates.
Regardless the subject's attributes, wrong doing shall be punished. Though the damaged is returned, the time lost will never be recovered.
Well done fisheries to stop this to be more damaging than it already has.
May the 890 breams rest in peace.

13FISH strikes again!
A phone call to 13FISH on Sunday morning has helped Fisheries Officers remove two illegal nets from Sanctuary Lakes and seize several others from a Point Cook residence.
The first net allegedly contained more than 1,000 juvenile bream. Officers managed to release hundreds of live bream from the net, however nearly 890 were already dead.
The second net contained no fish.
Fisheries Officers later attended a residence and allegedly discovered 5 more nets, which were seized along with a 2012 Toyota Camry.
A man and woman will be charged with using and possessing commercial fishing equipment, taking undersize fish and taking more than the catch limit.
The pair face fines of over $16,000 and up to 6 months imprisonment.
If you see or suspect illegal fishing activity, call 13FISH (133474), anytime. You can remain anonymous. Make the call and make the difference!
