RECREATIONAL FISHERS HOOKED ON DIGITAL AGE
Media are invited to interview Minister for Fishing and Boating, Jaala Pulford as she joins Victorian Fisheries Authority and recreational fishing representatives to celebrate the launch of the digital recreational fishing licence and ‘GoFishVic’ smart phone app.
The digital recreational license will provide a streamline efficient delivery of our recreational licensing needs. The digital system will also be environmentally friendly, reducing consumable needs and impact to our environment.
The ‘GoFishVic’ app will be available from 1 January 2020 and will help Victorian recreational fishers digitally record and keep complete fishing histories to improve future fishing experiences. The data (catch and effort) is also a direct measure of the performance of our key recreational fisheries and will provide valuable insight to the effectiveness of various fishery management interventions.
