Yeah, the launch spot is pretty close by too. I think it's the closest kayak friendly launch to Cat Bay

Great report and pics mate. Id much rather a quiet session with good company, than a hot session on my own any time.

To me fishing is about relaxing and enjoying myself, and whether that's catching fish or talking ****, or both, is irrelevant in my books! Looks like an awesome arvo for it

your right it's just around the corner and up a bit - it's a very nice piece of water by yak the LJs and wrasse can be a pain at times though

Nice mate! Beautiful place down there, I used to fish it quite a bit and caught lots of cool stuff. Your mate's skate is actually a spotted stingaree (Urolophus gigas). The biggest difference between rays and stingarees is stingarees have a rounded fin at the end of the tail. Nasty spike on them too

Cool! I couldn't see any spine so I picked it up a couple of times, I guess I was lucky not to come away with a piercing.

Great report and if you want a successful landbased session try out Webb dock early in the morning with a howling southerly wind in overcast weather that's were you can catch solid pinkie snapper and as we now pinkies are delicious and we all try to target them at some time of our experience as lanbased anglers
