Rhyll jetty

Post by kristian1 » Wed Apr 27, 2016 10:27 pm

Hey guys ,
the last 4 weeks I've been trolling this website and forum , gathering many tips ,purchasing the Afn guides to western port and port Phillip on some forum recommendations , learning about knots, jigs and buying rods and reading everything fishing..
We've had four sessions in different locations and have had the best quality family time ever.. No iPad , TVs and other detract ions.. Just a beautiful connection to the ocean and many perfect sunsets..
On Monday the fam and I thought we'd try our luck at Rhyll jetty... And the day unfolded perfectly ..
High tide around 3pm .. And after a couple of hours ...a bay trout 35cm (Aus salmon )same I think ? And silver trevally 30ish c, also a decent size leather jacket ....
What a cracker say it was , caught on pilchard and squid..
Such a great intro to fishing , the family are totally hooked :water: And I'm now reading all about squid , which I'm hoping to land some soon.
This was also a great family spot lots of kids , and nice and safe too ..

Congrats on the early success!

Bay trout /juvenile australian salmon. As they mature they lose the spots and end up with almost black backs. That trevor would have been good fun!

Cowes pier produces nicely as well but fish on a tide change!
