Gummy time.

Post by CarlG » Sun Apr 23, 2017 1:23 pm

Been a while since I put a report up, so here's a short one.
Glassed out conditions in the western entrance last night, so we decided to head to head to our deep water gummy mark.
Bait was frozen arrow squid, caught off cape schanck a couple of weeks back, and a slimey cut into chunk baits.
Anyhoo, baits went down, and scacely 20 minutes in, tap tap bang, and the drag starts screaming.
Took my time, as the depth of water and the flood tide created a lot of pressure, but eventually, up it came.
First gummy to christrn my mates new boat..
Couple more bites after, but only resulted in a monster Jacko, and a horse banjo..
Good night overall, in great conditions.

What did it take the slimy or arrow squid? Caught a lot of gummies on snapper marks last year as by catch on calamari.
