id be over the moon with those fish, suprised the young fella managed to hold on. they would have given him a lot of grief, they are certainly BIIIG salmon

Steve, they gave him a good fight, at one stage there we were holding him just to keep him in the boat while he got the run around. We've caught a few sambas over the years, but none with the pull of these guys. they weighed in 5 - 8lb

They were all stonkers! We trolled some skirts like this kato skirt - Dr Evil with not much success. The best success was to run wide past the school and turn the engine off, drift into their line and they came to the boat. spaniard raider 60g lures in blue or green worked best, hit every cast. downsized to 30g and not as much success.

i can only imagine hahaha, i struggled a bit on 15kg/4000 daiwa on smaller fish. was just suprised they were still taking line even after manhandling them to the boat.
looks like they were feeding on the bigger sized bait if they were going mainly after the bigger slugs

They're very solid Salmon you picked up, well done.. great fighters too..
