Not an eagle ray.

When something is taking line you need to hold the rod at about 60deg. Use the bend of the rod to take strain off the line. Dont have it horizontal. Not having a go, just trying to give advice.

A big eagle ray will send that spool on your reel crazy, youll even have smoke coming off the rod guides :lol:

Usually have the rod up, this time was only because when I tried lifting. he would get mad and just take off, so I decided to just leave it down.
