Re: On a boat @ Rhyll
Fished down that way a couple of months back..we were sitting about 200 metres or so uptide from it..bloody hell the water pumps up and over it..! Even when we fish the other side, over near Somers you can see a big pressure wave over in that area, I presume that's Mchaffies.. (or however it's spelt).
We fished for a doughnut there btw..

You can't tell someone to get stuffed because they give someone some advice on a spot they are not aware of.bowl wrote:get stuffed

what bait . places u fished?
:cold: SCORPiOOn has like 4 post and members on here don't like it if u give out to much info to new members :shocker:
I was waiting fora response from scorpions to before giving more details.
I.e I launch Anderson rd ramp ,cowes west, i head past what I call red rocks(turbulence in water when passing the point)once you get pass the red rocks u should see little boats in close tied Up I fish just out out form boats for ting and squid.
You can fish straight out from here in deep water a hour either side of tide change, u don't to head to far out as it drops off quickly, currently is heavy out here try fish slack water.
I would not recommend heading past the next reef/ point as gets quite shallow and lots of turbulence and only for experience.

Re: On a boat @ Rhyll
easy now lads. scorpi00n probably saw this already and may have done some additional research whether or not to fish the area.
Let's hit the water at 40 knots northerly. Salmon was in Mordi yesterday so bring the heavy lures.

Thanks for the response fellas. As for the whole "SCORPiOOn has like 4 post and members on here don't like it if u give out to much info to new members" comment, that's a great way to get people coming back to the forum mate..
After writing that post we decided to get back to shore as it was getting a bit choppy, we were about 7km's out from Rhyll and took us ages to get back due to the weather.
None of the boys on the boat were very experienced so there was a bit of excitement getting back to the ramp in those conditions lol.
I guess Im lucky I didnt read the post about mcaffies reef before deciding to head back or we probably would have been screwed.

Re: On a boat @ Rhyll
Was just trying gauge where and what u have tryed.would of gave description i.e when i launch from anderson ramp ect would of said only in day light hours ect
Generally everybody knows westernport is dangerous and anybody who would try a new spot in darkness and not ask for extra information is....
I would never try a new area i.n western port before sussing it out in daylight and with nav maps.
