Chiangmai drain/sewer fishing

Post by shazdoggg » Tue May 13, 2014 9:34 pm

Been awhile since I've done a report so here it is. Chiangmai drain fishing. Pretty sure the locals thought I was bonkers fishing in the middle of the city. Bait used was pork floss in a bun which got results after what was a slow start. In the end I got one fish I can't ID and 4 catfish. Biggest going around 3lb in the old scale. Best rig was 1.2g shot on 3ft 10lb FC(only had FC or would have used mono.

Northern Thailand mate. I'm close to the Laos and Burmese borders ATM. Haven't had a chance to do as much fishing as I wanted. Saw what looked like arrowana or tarpon which was fair sized! Are gourami in s.e Asia? Cheers for the reply SS!

Nice work mate! There are so many fish in random lakes in Thailand, it's crazy! I didn't bring a rod the first time I went, I went back a year later (jan this year) and for some reason left it at home again. Very jealous.

I take my rods whenever I'm OS haha. Used to having strange looks from ppl when I'm carrying massive PVC tubing around. I was told there's a fee paying fishing pond not far away, which I might check out.

Very cool. Went for a walk along a creek in an industrial area over there were locals were fishin and wished I had a rod with me. The locals were looking at us like 'what the f**k are you doin here', quite funny.
