Hello & Welcome to VRFish, the Victorian Recreational Fishing Peak Body.

We consult broadly with the recreational fishing community to represent their views in an accurate and timely manner to Government and their agencies, as well as communicate effectively with the recreational fishers of Victoria.

As the peak body representing a community of over 721,000 Victorians, VRFish works to provide fishers with support through facilitation, advocacy, education strategies and policy development.

Our membership comprises three categories:
  • Affiliated members of a club or association representing at least 500 members or 10 fishing clubs;
  • Unaffiliated members; and
  • Kindred Interest Groups.
We aim to be inclusive and accessible to all Victorian fishers. VRFish has a strong regional structure in place and has representatives in all Victorian water catchment regions. VRFish welcomes input from everyone involved in recreational fishing to ensure we are representative when advocating for Victorian fishing, both now and in the future.

VRFish also has a number of committees that govern and provide guidance on issues such as research and development, water and habitat, communications, financial management and fishing infrastructure and access. We draw on external expertise to assist VRFish members on these committees.

To contact VRFish, please send an email to info@vrfish.com.au or call (03) 9397 6318.

How come as a licensed recreational fisher I don't get a say in who actually represent me. If you represent me does this mean I am already a member?

Hopefully we will see a response. I know DEPI will never participate in any forum chat. I would hope that VRFish will respond to any questions asked on their posts or to me it will be a waste of time participating here.
cheers
Jim

If Vrfish does represent the interests of fishos registered on this site, I'd like to know is how it plans to go about doing that.

Perhaps it could post on here some of the issues it is representing us on? Or maybe it could seek input on certain issues?
