Wilsons Prom Kings; Report

Post by mazman » Sat Mar 11, 2017 10:58 pm

Hey guys,
A rather belated report from when Scott took me out to chase kingfish. go pro wasn't running when I landed the two better kings but I had it rolling when we came across a school of salmon with a few rats thrown in for good measure. I hope you enjoy it and thanks for watching.

Damn it's fun when you find a big school of salmon.

I got a pissant kingy down there yesterday. Unfortunately I couldn't tempt anything bigger before the couta bit off my only jig

I've been to Leonard Point twice now and both times I've seen large schools of fish holding there, seems to be pretty good spot and probably an excellent landbased location for anyone insane enough to try the walk in

It was certainly enjoyable. For anyone that is interested we found the most effective lures to be smaller profiled soft plastics and diving hards but the most enjoyable lures were stickbaits, poppers and anything else ripped across the surface.

Nice work on the king Ian, even the little guys go hard for their size.
