LB King

Post by abzz » Sun Feb 18, 2018 12:30 pm

So after reading Carls report a couple weeks ago, last weekend i decided to check out a known spot on the island to see how fishable it was. It looked good
So yesterday I headed out there for a crack with a mate. The first 6 hours wasnt ideal for ballooning as the wind wasnt right, so while waiting for the wind to change we caught a few squid and tried spinning for kings with lures. 6 hours later the wind had changed and the balloons went out with fresh squid strips. About half an hour later i heard a pop and my rod screamed off. A quick but hard fight this small kingy was landed. At a length of 79cm (head to tail)definitely not a big fish but a LB king none the less.
Happy days. Now hoping for a metery :-D
