freshwater yabbies and bass yabbies for docklands

Post by 5ubzero » Sun Apr 12, 2015 11:15 pm

Hey guys, i searched up the site and people have talked about this briefly.
I once used a box of bass yabbies, which bream destroyed them at docklands!(once i cut the claws off them). However they are quite expensive, and i have no clue where to pump them close to dockland area.

so i was thinking can i use baby freshwater yabbies in these places with the same effect? Has anybody used them before and how did it go? i can buy them in bulk and much cheaper, and go on a fishing spree haha.
Also any body know any locations to buy bass yabbies close to docklands? or epping. thanks:)
The guy i would buy it from never has them nomore.

I find the freshwater baby yabbies actually work better. Tends to catch the bigger ones, and bream love them. The bass yabbies get destroyed by the little pickers.

I'd be tempted to try Raw Banana Prawn - I've used them on Bream before further up Gippsland and are a really good bait

head - tail and shell them then cut the meat into 2 fillets and then cut these into 4 or 5 pieces ( 8 - 10 baits per prawn )
I recently paid $ 12 per KG from my local Coles and thats a lot of Bream baits - they normaly sell for around $ 18 P/Kg

By the way Pinkies - Flathead - Whiting and most other things smash the good old prawn and for the cost of these , and they are food grade so are about as fresh as you get with out catching them your self

Just a thought
My kayak PBs

Never tried banana prawn on bream but I've caught most of my fish on them. You can sometimes get those little school prawns from Woolworths too, I reckon they'd be great as a whole bait retrieved slowly along the bottom.

Went in there one day just after his freezers broke down. Luckily my 6 year old stayed in the car with her mum because the language would have made a pimp blush!
