Sabiki rigs good for landbased/piers?
Re: Sabiki rigs good for landbased/piers?
When Ive fished in some parts of s.e asia, they use the sabiki with a metal jig(with assist hooks) on the bottom as the weight. The bonus with this, is that you can catch nice fish on the bottom jig aswell as baitfish on the sabiki. Probably not legal to use in vic but a good idea all the same I reckon.
When I got time,
I wet a line cos Im a junkie,
been fishin since a kid,
I like it cos it numbs me..

Freshwater you are allowed 2 rods with 2 hooks on each.

Lol, this comes up a lot, you are allowed up to 6 hooks as long as they are less than 2cm long and don't have bait on them.johnat24 wrote:Freshwater you are allowed 2 rods with 2 hooks on each.

No you can't bait up only two, they must all be unbaited.
In my experience the smaller hooks with tinsel in them work best.

Although, I wonder about the legalities on saltwater estuaries like near the mouth of the mordi river, etc.
