Advice on PPB Gummy...`

Post by vinalf » Thu Apr 30, 2015 8:06 am

Well the weather is a cracker and and after much reading, and the odd donut try previously, I have decided to head out for a PPB gummy tonight. It is late in the season but not out of bounds according to articles in various magazines.

Here are some links for those of you interested!

http://www.fishnet.com.au/default.aspx? ... cleId=5502" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://www.fishingmonthly.com.au/Articl ... er-Gummies" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The tide, the moon and weather all line up as per the perfect articles. I have some slimeys for bait and some old bait for berley.

Oh of course the location is the key, and that is what I am still searching for. During summer my some snagged a large lost one (we lost it) around the Carrum Outer reef mark so from 4 pm tillarround 9 pm that will be our home!

That is of course unless someone has a better and proven mark they could share. You can PM so as not to publish it!

I always leave from due to un trailered putt putt and can travel about 25-20 ks in each direction.

Of course return for the right spot you are welcome on my boat for the next trip!!

Wish me luck
Cheers.

I usally spend a hour getting fresh squid n salmon
Bait is key for me.
I generally don't burley as fresh salmon sends off enough burly by it self.
When I do burley I wind the bait half meter to s meter off the bottom.
Caught a lot of gummy on black magic snapper snatches.

Will be fishing new mark off raaf base in around ten meters, I'll let ya know in coming weeks if it's worth fishing.
To many boats kayak, helicopter , catch a fish,catch a fish
