Farrk lol, well done. Did you catch that ?

Yes, most reports show it is transferred from Duck and Pelicans with fertilized eggs attaching to their feet etc. I personally oversaw some of the construction of the Cairnlea Lakes in 2004 etc, and now they are full of Carp and Redfin. Their are heaps of ducks in those Ponds. I dont see anyone fish in Caroline Springs Lake, but not far from there in Tenterfield, Small pond with Aboriginal Painted Posts and Viewing Deck (on such a small pond) and it is regularly fished. I also wondered how they got in there until i saw a Pelican there last week. So birds are definately spreading the fish around. Would they also eat the fish, regurgitate them to feed young, or some pass through their droppings ?

Another point, is it safe to eat the Redfin and Trout out of the Albert ?

Heard about that in a radio show:P and they say any fish caught in albert lake, shouldn't be taken and eaten. Mainly for fun.

Just one comment on how fish get into the area and why Carp is so common. Carp can lay up to one million eggs, the water in these lakes gets pumped in from somewhere. With so many Carp eggs around, most water that gets pumped in is bound to have some. That is why Carp end up in all these waters.
