Gunnamatta 23/7

Post by samjas1316 » Sun Jul 22, 2018 6:26 pm

It's been a while since our last report so here goes: My boy and I fished Gunnamatta this morning from 7 am to 9 am. We walked the beach casting 40g slugs at likely looking gutters. No standout lures although one spin guy did get quite a few using a silver/chrome slice. Met a few other spin guys and it was good to chat with them. Although the action wasn't a fast and furious as ante552's report we still managed a decent bag. Biggest measured 62 cm. Conditions were brilliant.

Good to meet you samjas and a few other guys. That was a great effort!
Was donuts for me on the spin gear but I’m still learning.
Going again tomorrow (got the week off) and will fish over the last of the flood then as opposed to the high and the ebb today.
Should be a pretty quiet beach too.
Do you vary speeds on the retrieve or just steady? Fast or slow?

Gday Lx. I got the 62 cm. Great fight. Hit like a freight train. Took line and then dogged fight in the wash.

I like to vary my retrieve Bayrock. I've caught them on all retrieves, even dead slow at times. Good luck this week.

We only got the four hits for the four fish ante. Two of the fish came from three casts! So although we didn't get the quantity, the quality was good. Well done on your catch too.

Still 4 in 4 id mostly likely need to cast 100 times to catch on a slug.
Once again well done :)
