Squid and Bream

Post by mazman » Mon Aug 27, 2018 5:16 pm

Couple of short reports from the recent patch of good weather.
Thursday morning I had a small window to get out and fish, ended up fishing patto found the fish were fairly timid but found a good patch and put 4 on the board and dropped two after the first headshake.

Saturday morning headed to ppb for some squid with smokin reels, fairly slow going but put together a bag, bumped into P5 on the water and he found the same but managed to get into some salmon after smokin reels and I had gone home.

was good to catch up with you and smokinreels on the water mate, even if it was only for a short chat. i hope smokin enjoyed his first trip out in the bay. if you guys stuck around i would have certainly called you over to the salmon, few kayakers were getting railed and paddling in circles hooked up hahaha.
the salmon were as finicky as the squid sitting deep and not really chasing anything, you would get the odd fish that chased after a lure and that was it.
and looks like you guys did well on the squid as well.

i also hit the patto sunday and donutted, missed one good take and that was it, suzie got one and dropped a couple
cheers

Yeah I eat the squid Gra, no videos from these trips wanted to keep it simple because they were short sessions and I hadn't been out in a while.

Yeah it was good to have a quick chat out there. Unlucky at patterson lakes, can be a very hard system to fish.
