Local piers - any sambo and squid?

Post by Fish-cador » Tue Sep 20, 2011 11:15 am

Friday, Saturday and Sunday after lunch, I fished Mordi pier hoping to snag some calamari and sambo. A few sambos were caught from the pier, all on SP but there was too much water in between them. In 3 days, I spent $30 parking fee for 5 sambos and 5 calamari. Not good result for too much hassle but still better off than 99% of other anglers soaking bait. My snapper baits (cala) were discovered by my missus and the bait ended up in the grill.

Any news from other piers? Where are the sambos and cala? Is mornington pier worth the long drive to pull some snapper baits?

Thanks
