fishing lights on hooks

Post by 5ubzero » Mon Nov 11, 2013 8:13 pm

Im just wondering, Since I do fish mostly at night threw out the morning.
I allways thought of attaching a small glowstick or light securely to or next to the hook with bait on it.
Would it improve my catch for snapper and other fish?

Also for people luring for squid at night? wouldn't this be a gun method since squid mainly use there eyes to hunt.

Great minds think alike Subbie!

I've caught fish with glow beads ON the hook, slide a soft glow bead onto the hook and push it up just below the eye then bait up.

Works a treat.

I don't think it would , but you could try ? . It may look like luminescence from a squid to a snapper ?

Try and find out.

Cheers , Rick.

Hey Sub, people have been using glow sticks near their squid jigs at night since the 1970's that I can remember, does it catch more squid I don't know but I don't think it hurts.
As for Snapper I can't help you there but you are allowed 4 rods so just try it on one of your rods and see how you go, then let us all know how you go.
Cheers
