A few larger Pinkies starting to bite at Campbells cove

Post by Fishsniper » Sat Feb 08, 2014 11:35 am

I took the yak out at Campbells cove this morning, the water was a bit discolored so I didn't catch any Squid or whiting but I found a patch of reasonable sized pinkies, all up I probably caught about 10 or so with one that I wouldv'e estimated to be 1.5 kilo but it slipped out my hands in the yak and went back in for a swim. The 3 I kept were 29, 31 and 35cm.
Cheers

Often wondered about you guys in the yak there is no room for error when handling the fish they just fall back in the drink. Nice catch though well done

It's a Freak Assasin, it's nothing special but with the right weather conditions you can take it out in the bay and I only go out about 500 metres max at Campbells cove because there is some good ground there, one day I will probably upgrade to a better yak but for now it's ok and I have an 18lb motor on it which saves me paddling too much
