PPB whiting / squid / salmon - new member!
Hi All,
Just found this awesome forum - great work from all and sundry! Really pleased to see such a helpful and active community around fishing!
Quick question: Heading out in the morning for a few hours on the bay. Usually only an early season PPB snapper fisherman launching off black rock. Really keen to see if I can get into some whiting / squid / salmon etc. Happy to head down to carrum or the like to launch. Any advice would be more than welcome!

You could launch at Carrum or Frankston then head around Olivers Hill for squid or salmon.
I'm the wrong dude to ask about whiting, freaking hopeless.

Welcome mate, If you launch at Mornington and anchor up on the reef just off the nude beach there's a good whiting spot!!!

I just use pipi ,mussle, squid ,throw thro bait out n leave on bottom for couple of mins and then slowly wind it in when whiting fishing.i have been getting whiting with running sinker setup as well.patnosta set up. St leonards sorrento always good for whiting n squid.
To many boats kayak, helicopter , catch a fish, catch a fish

wp tends to fish better on the whiting than ppb, although there is great spots near sorrento (
100m of the beach). Also massive calamari there too
