Flinders just before dawn. Breezy, dry and a gorgeous sunrise over Phillip Island. No squid around.... well, none that was interested in my orange size 2.5 $5.50 special from Compleat Angler... . It was clipped on to a rod length 12 lb leader which was allegedly invisible. Mainline is 30 lb braid from Aldi, joining knot is the Albright knot. Oh well, there is always next weekend....

Got fed up of losing my Yozuris to the weeds. Ta for the advice, will pick up some 15 lb when in stock. Yes know about the left hand corner, but there is always someone there.

Snapper from late September.....

The Elephants have now left the bay as we gave it a fair crack for 2 days last week.

Most elephant fish are caught each year between March and the end of May.

Your best bet in winter is to chase Gummy Sharks in Western Port Bay in my opinion.

Let us know how you go? :r
