Now I don't want to get my own hopes up too high .... but .. but .. I think I may have found Spot X !!!

great catch avg_fisho! ah what a fishermens dream it's made of. were the salmon busting up the baitfish on three surface?

Thanks, I SAW a whole heap of birds diving about 2 times further than i could cast then in the blink of an eye there were salmon busting up 20 meters away and it was on from then.
Didn't have to cast far to get them which was good.
