deleting PMs

I know this is a silly question but... my PM folder is full and I can't for the life of me figure out how to delete older messages so I can accept new ones... help anyone?

open the pm to be deleted and then the x in the bottom right to delete that message.

Go into your 'inbox' or 'sent messages'. Tick off the ones you want to delete (in the column under 'Mark'). Down the bottom right hand corner...click on 'Mark/Unmark as important messages' thingy. 
A drop down menu will appear. Choose delete messages. Then go!
