High tide only, and it's very narrow, only one angler can go off the end at anyone time. Its also high so if you catch a gummy you may have problems landing it

Not sure exactly what the OP is actually after, but it’s a good spot to get a gummy. That being said, like most land based stuff you have to be prepared to put in the hours and have a couple of donut trips along the way. The water is basically the same depth for a long way out so it doesn’t matter if your fishing off the side or front of the pier. However as mentioned above it is very narrow and I tend not to hang around if there is already someone fishing there as battling a gummy whilst trying to get around other people, lines & tackleboxes can be a nightmare and quickly end in tears.

Outside of gummies, rays and elephants in March the only other stuff I’ve seen caught there have been mullet & sml salmon. I’m sure there are flatties around but I don’t think I’ve ever got one there.

I’m actually moving down there next year, pretty interested in the yak fishing. How much time do you usually get out there without being caught dragging the yak through the mud?

Depends how many tides you want to sit through. You need a meter or so of water or the ramp is completely exposed.
