Don't know where I got mud island from ???
My bad.
Hahaha...Mud Island is in southern PPB mate. Would have been a bloody good effort on a day like today!

The tortoise head "area" can be quite productive for a number of key species. Eg. Reds, gumbos, kgw, cala, and the almighty jew.

Not sure if you know already, but the "navionics" app is a bewdy and gives you quite a bit of info if you're looking for areas that certain species may call home (providing you know a bit about "what" you're targetting).

At least you got out and had a crack pal. Hopefully better weather coincides with the next trip giving you a better chance at having a good sound around.

Thank redhunter, yes I think my brain is still settling back to normality after 7 hours in the swell. I don't think the results from today's wind view does it justice. Anyway tortise head/mud island same same different bay port ha ha. Sorry.
I've got the navionics app, yeah it's great. Not that I pretent to know much apart from holes and gutters.
I am more keen on gummies than snapper just coz I prefer the taste.
So I should get to know the territory that gumbos prefer.
Still a lot to learn for this little duck.
