caught this one on a plastic minnow at safety beach off the rock wall, beautiful looking fish

Red Mullet(goat fish) Very nice table fish apparently.

They are very tasty indeed and a beauty coloration of a fish too. :thumbsup:

There is no legal size, not sure on the filliting method? All I do is gut all my fish and throw them on the BBQ :doh:

Great eating fish, but don't target them specifically. I usually get them as a by catch while catching things such as wrasse and leatherjacket.

Nice!! ive shot one of these while spearfishing, initially i thought it was a big piece plastic cause it was hiding in the weedy bit,
as i got a better angle of it, i saw a beautiful pink hehe so took the shot lol.

Nice fish btw =)

Hay shazdoggg,

I use a Seac-sub bout 80-120cm for the bay.
Im going to buy a Picasso in summer with a reel.

I shot the goat fish in sorrento/blairegowrie hehehe heaps of squid there too! :thumbsup:

Not tonight there wasn't, froze our balls off for 1 small squid. Tried Sorrento, Blairgowrie, Rye, Rosebud and Dromana.
The squid at the moment are bloody hard to find and it's really starting to pee me off :bat:
