What is this ?

Post by Yota » Fri Mar 01, 2019 6:04 pm

Was fishing out of Barwon Heads today and this bugger flocked my old favourite knife in the drink - gone :(
Anyway I released this critter I’d never seen one before. I checked my fisheries app on my phone and couldn’t find its namesake.
It was just over 50cm long ( the baitboard lid is 50cm ) and it has this long fine dorsal fin extension.
And sharp teeth too ! Buggered up my leader.

All fish will vary slightly in colour depending on their environment. But yep you've got a bog standard mother in law fish
