could be a butterfish/Morwong not really sure.you should have taken more pics from different angle make it easier to identify :?:

One of those kelp fish I recon no good to eat see em all the time when diving

Yep definitely a Rock Cale, fairly common in the area but not often caught on line, many spear fisho's get them along the weedy inshor reefs on the southern end of PPB.

Do a search on the species name (Aplodactylus lophodon) and you will find heaps of other pictures and stuff to help you work it out.

i see afew of these in the reef when im diving real pretty to look at!
PLENTY!! of FISH!! in the SEA!! but so little TIME!!!
