Re: Fish ID; What could it have been?
water temp 22.5C.
the wait was for huge 10kg snapper -I was wishing
a make that would break my reel which had 5 or 6 kg drag, crack my rod, uhm. I'd say that's more likely out the heads.
I'd put it down to a HUGE eagle ray but I saw no jumping, and the line was clean cut.
Do sharks come in that shallow?
I 'aint swimming at no beach for now. Just incase.
I'm 25% shark 25% huge ray and then 50% still unsure.

I found no abrasion signs.Master-pro wrote:Could be a huge snapper or gummy taking you into a snag or something? :dontknow
There is always the posability it clean cut on some discarded metal, but still, it was cleaner than I cut the line myself :icon_lolz:
Could also have caught the barb on a stingray when it changed direction, cutting the line.
I guess it's come down to ray or shark?
I know the signs point towards the toothy one, but I 100% refuse to accept that one would be that close to the beach, especially in the north end of the bay...
