Caught in the Goulburn

Post by Dick83 » Sat Mar 15, 2014 9:46 am

Hi all caught this fish a while ago. Thought it was a trout cod at first but now I look at it again not so sure can you all help ease my mind. All fish I catch are released.

GTSHoon I was thinking the same thing but threw out to the forum to be sure should've held on to him a bit longer and had a proper look.

Look like a silver perch to me.
They are protected in the goulburn :)
Catch them by the 1000's

Silver Perch did cross my mind but I believe the shape is wrong. I'm pretty confident along with the others that it's a Yella. On second look.

Nice yella mate. good job on releasing it. as you say you release them all it is a good idea to keep them off the dirt if you can avoid it. it doesnt help their protective slime covering.
cheers
