I depends on the wind direction. Middle beach gets a decent shorebreak after a good wind, makes it pretty hard to fish. I've found it fishes best the last few hours before dark, and the usual tide changes. It's not a long walk if you park at the end of Cliff St. you just walk down the steps. My folks live on Cliff St., so understandably it's my favorite spot, as I've fished it for ever...!azkay wrote: Greggo, thanks for the photo, Merimbula Point is where ill be spending my nights i think, fair walk but the possibilities have me excited. Out of the local beaches (Short Point, Middle and Main), would Middle be your pick of the bunch?
My favorite night spot is main beach straight down from the oval, there's a big hole there and holds a lot of different species. The oval usually has a floodlight turned toward the beach over Xmas, so it's easy fishing at night.
Short Point isn't all that reliable, good whiting are caught there as well as Salmon and Tailor, but not regularly.
