Have been doing a bit of level line casting with the thread lines and braid and just got myself a new 15 foot 3 piece Century SRE from the UK . Imatched this initially with my comp casting threadline but today put my Daiwa Baisia 25QD on it running braid mainline with a 60 pound braid shock leader. Casting was done with a 3 oz lead even though the rod is rated up to 6 and will be taking her out on the reds in the coming weeks
Here's the video footage doing some practice casts with her at Cherry lake during my lunch break :a_goodjob:

Hey mate
Out of curiosity what sort of distance are you hitting ?
And is the level line casting that crazy swing that you do ?
Cheers

Re: Working with new 15' SRE and Daiwa 25QD
Barnsie , I am hitting around 180 meters with the SRE at the moment.
When I use my comp gear I average about 240 meters for the longer throws.
Level line relates to the competition done in NSW, SA and Western Australia were the cast is done without a shock leader and it is just the main line tied direct to the sinker. Most people who compete in it use thread lines and braid due to the thinner diameter for breaking strain. Also the weights that are thrown are only 2 oz and 4 oz . It's a balancing act between using a line thin enough to give a good distance yet strong enough to take the forces that are generated during the cast.
Hope that helps .
