I should add that there are a few elements that need to be right first before distance can be achieved.

The little things I mention are like the size of the reel spool, line diameter, having the correct amount of line on the spool, some mono lines are stiff and have a memory, they are best avoided.

Doing the drag up before casting.

If any of you guys are wanting a information and casting day I am happy to come and provide some help for those interested.

Alternatively I will be doing a presentation night at the Footscray and District Angling club in a few weeks as a precursor to there surf comp in the first few weeks of April. The actual date is still to be determined.

Alternatively I do a fair bit of practice now down at Cherry Lake in Altona as it is close to my office.

Dazz ,

It was great catching up and having a fling down at the beach with you and hope that you had fun learning to get the distances without having to do anything more than improve your technique with the light rod. As we discussed they are only little things that can improve your enjoyment :-)
next time the boys and I are heading out I will give you a yell :-)
