Just checked guide, closed season for females from 1 June & males 15 September
Sorry to get your hopes up

Couple of things.

That beach is beyond Gunnamatta levels of dangerous. Be careful. The undertow is like nothing i've ever experienced. I nearly lost my best friend and his dog there a few years ago.

I've hooked and landed plenty of Salmon on lures there and it's a renowned gummy spot as well. Could probably hook bigger sharks if you can get a solid enough bait out. if you walk all the way to the south end you can climb over the little ridge and have a look at dinosaur cove as well which is just stunning.

The Aire river estuary is a really nice spot to have an explore around, great option if the swell is up. Soft plastics were what I was using.

The Aire river upstream used to be an incredible trout water. It's not as good as it used to be but you'll still pick up some fish from either side of the GoR bridge if you go for a little walk. Blue on gold size 0 spinners were my choice here but pretty much any stream trout tactic will probably work.
