I’m far more prepared this time though. 80lb braid main/70lb leader/mustard circle hook+rated swivel and chicken chunks! Never caught Gummy before so it’ll be interesting if and when I do. Cheers.
What sort rod was it?

mpharris66 wrote:80lb braid was free so on it went. I’ll try chicken, squid, salmon, Pilchard or anything else petty much. Friday was quiet all night, lots of seaweed around which was a pain. Sat is a lost cause with high winds and heavy rain. Powlett river wasnt much better, exposed to westerly winds. There’s always next weekend... :water:
Fresh strip of slimie or coota or squid will be brtter then chicken

Good luck with next weekend

Is high or low tide better for Gummy or doesn’t it matter much? Low tide will mean I go Kilcunda
Keep persisting and I’m sure you will get onto one. I remember I didnt get my first gummy straight away. Took me quite a few goes. Good luck on Friday mate

$50 “no name” ... so I guess I won’t be doing that again. I would have had better service at K-Mart. I took it back to where I bought it from and the guy said he’d never carried that brand before and tried to make out I was outright lying. I showed him a photo I took of the receipt... he shut up pretty quick. He said he needed to give it back to his supplier for “investigation”. That was 6 weeks ago and still haven’t seen my $50.

Any tips be greatly appreciated
Boat or LB Mate? If Jetty at Grantville then try for Mullet as bait otherwise Elephants or Gummys should be a good target on a full moon

Is there a better option for rigging for gummy or doesn’t it particularly matter? LB for me.
