Mix bag from the surf again

Post by Kenle » Sat Oct 20, 2018 5:47 pm

Went out this morning with family to one of my favourite surf beach. Weather was pretty average but the fishing was amazing. Got there at 5am and set up 5 rods one for each member, just on sunrise it was chaos with fish flopping all over the place as we were so quick to pull them out and getting bait back in. Bites were literally no more than 2 mins apart, by 7am we were all tired and hungry so we left them biting. Salmon ranged between 26cm - 56cm, pinkies ranged between 31cm - 52cm, 34cm flatty ( its hiding underneath), silver trevaly between 33cm - 37cm. Many salmon n pinkies n flatty that were just legal were all thrown back, also got a gummy that were just legal also thrown back.
Bait of choice is pilchard from the servo, and Mums special secrete recipe chicken fillets. ( chicken breast fillets marinated in crushed garlic, curry powder, lots of salt). Rig of choice is double drop with a big star sinker and size 2/0 gamma octopus with beads and tinsel.
Will go again next week hopefuly better weather. :water:
